Οι υποψηφιότητες για τη μεγάλη βραδιά των βραβείων Όσκαρ δείχνουν ότι αυτή η χρονιά θα είναι η χρονιά του Leonardo DiCaprio. Το άξιζε εδώ και χρόνια και φαίνεται πως ήρθε η στιγμή να σηκώσει το πολυπόθητο χρυσό αγαλματίδιο για την ερμηνεία του στην ταινία επιβίωσης "The Revenant".
Ήταν σαν μια κατάρα να ακολουθεί τον διάσημο ηθοποιό από την εποχή του Τιτανικού. Τότε που η μοναδική κατηγορία που δεν ήταν υποψήφια η ταινία για βραβείο Όσκαρ ήταν αυτή του Α’ Ανδρικού Ρόλου. Ο νεαρός τότε Leonardo DiCaprio και πρωταγωνιστής της ταινίας δεν πήγε στην τελετή απονομής.
Στην 88η τελετή απονομής των Όσκαρ η ταινία “Η Επιστροφή” (The Revenant) συγκέντρωσε συνολικά 12 υποψηφιότητες. Ακολουθούν οι ταινίες “Mad Max: Ο δρόμος της οργής”, του Τζορτζ Μίλερ με 10 υποψηφιότητες και “Η Διάσωση” του Ρίντλεϊ Σκοτ με 7 υποψηφιότητες.
